TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - After leading the University of Arizona Wildcat football team to a bowl victory in his first season as coach, Rich Rodriguez's team also scored a big win in the classroom.

According to the NCAA Academic Progress Rate, this year the Wildcats had the best graduation rate in the PAC-12.

A class attendance policy installed in 2010 has boosted graduation rates for all sports, University of Arizona Athletic Director Greg Byrnes said

The football team's score even edged out Stanford.

"To say we excelled in the classroom at a level even beyond them, that says a lot about the job that our student athletes and our Cats Academics and everybody else have done," Byrne told 9 On Your Side.

Sean Miller's Wildcat basketball team was one of four teams in the conference with a perfect graduation rate.
