Man arrested in Phoenix for alleged molestations
PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say the former leader of a vigilante border group is in custody for allegedly having sexual contact with three girls under the age of 10.
Phoenix police say 52-year-old Christopher Allen Simcox was arrested Wednesday.
He's been booked into jail on suspicion of two counts of molestation of a child, two counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of attempted molestation of a child.
Police didn't release any details of the cases.
They say detectives with the Family Investigations Bureau developed probable cause to arrest Simcox, who has denied the allegations.
Police didn't immediately know Wednesday afternoon if Simcox has an attorney yet.
Simcox co-founded the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in 2005. The group brought thousands of anti-illegal immigration activists to patrol the U.S.-Mexico border.
