Applications being accepted for Pima County judge

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Officials say applications are now being accepted for a vacant judgeship spot at the Pima County Superior Court.
The vacancy came up with the retirement of Judge Howard Hantman.
The Pima County Commission on Trial Court Appointments will review applications and conduct interviews before recommending at least three nominees for consideration by Gov. Jan Brewer.
She will ultimately appoint the new judge.
Applicants must be at least 30 years old, be credentialed to practice law in Arizona and have lived here for the past five years. Applicants must also have lived in Pima County for the past year.
The deadline to apply is July 12.
The new judge will be paid an annual salary of $145,000.
