Chino Fire burning near Nogales

NOGALES, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A new wildfire burning near Nogales is being called the Chino Fire.

According to a media release from Coronado National Forest Nogales Ranger District the fire was reported June 11 around 11 a.m.

The fire is located seven miles west of Nogales, Arizona and burning in brush and grass.

The fire started in Mexico of unknown cause and moved north across the international border onto the Coronado National Forest.

The fire has burned 50 acres and is approximately 50 percent contained.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
