TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - What was that large dark mass slowly moving over Tucson? The KGUN9 newsroom got calls and emails from the truly confused Monday night.
With some quick searching and a picture from a viewer snapped earlier in the day, we figured it out: it's the "Despicablimp"! The blimp is part of a marketing campaign to promote the upcoming movie Despicable Me 2.
You can track its course online. We also attached a map to this story. It looks like it was on its way to Phoenix.
Viewer Rusty Glenn sent us a photo from earlier in the day, as the blimp passed over Eastern Arizona. With daylight, what we're dealing with is much more clear, although it might be confusing for people without kids. On the side is a "minion" character from the flick.
Viewers said it was impossible to see any markings at night.
Did you spot it? Send your pictures of the Despicablimp to iContribute@kgun9.com.
