TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - On Saturday, the Tucson Toros will "roll back the clock" for disco night at Kino Stadium.
The Tucson Padres are returning to Kino Stadium for a four-game series against the Sacramento River Cats. Tim Hagerty tells KGUN9 that the Padres enter Tuesday's game in a first place tie with Sacramento.
The Tucson Padres along with Journal Broadcast Group will wear the colorful throwback Tucson Toros uniforms for the game. The uniform front was designed to represent a Tucson sunset; the back Tucson's blue sky.
A Bleacher Report recently ranked these 1980-era Toros jerseys the second ugliest in sports history.
Former Toros manager Jimmy Johnson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The Toros bright orange caps will be available for purchase in the team store.
The Padres have scheduled a Welcome Home DM Warriors Night in conjunction with the DM50.
This party will welcome home the Davis Monthan AFB personnel that have returned from their deployment overseas. About 2,500 American flags will be given away.
WWII Honor Flight participants will also be in attendance.
The returning military members will be recognized on the field prior to the game.
Padres tickets are available by calling (520) 434-1367 or by logging on to tucsonpadres.com or by visiting the Kino Stadium box office on 2500 E. Ajo Way.
