GILA BEND, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say six men have been rescued after walking for days in the Arizona desert.
Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the men were located Monday morning near Interstate 8 in Gila Bend, about 30 miles southwest of Phoenix, and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
They say the men "were in relatively good condition complaining only of extreme hunger and thirst."
The names, ages and nationalities of the six men weren't immediately available.
Authorities say the men apparently entered the U.S. illegally and were abandoned by their guide.
Sheriff's officials say the men claimed they had been walking through the Arizona desert for the past 10 days, were out of water and relying on cactus water to survive.
