TFD battles early morning blaze at Alfies Pub
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Alfies Pub has been condemned following an overnight blaze.
Capt. Barrett Baker tells KGUN9 that crews responded to Alfies Pub in the 3900 block of East 29th Street.
A Tucson police unit on patrol noticed smoke in the area, but didn't have an exact location. A single TFD Engine was dispatched for "fire nature unknown," a standard dispatch when there is smoke without a specific location.
The engine company canvassed the area and was directed to Alfies Pub by an officer.
The first engine on scene reported heavy smoke inside with low visibility, said Baker. Firefighters were able to locate the fire and extinguish the flames.
The Pima County Health Department was condemned due to the amount of smoke damage from the fire.
The origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation.
