Cochise County sheriff named to border committee

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels has been appointed to a legislative advisory committee on border security.
The Sierra Vista Herald reports that Senate President Andy Biggs appointed Dannels to fill one of the committee seats reserved for sheriffs from counties along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Sheriffs Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Paul Babeu of Pinal County and Ralph Ogden of Yuma County already serve on the committee.
