Police make arrest in graduation party homicide
TUCSON (AP/KGUN9-TV) - Police arrested an 18-year-old for first degree murder in the shooting death of a man at a graduation party early Friday morning.
Sgt. Chris Wimder with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that Joseph Goodman was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals at a relative's home.
Authorities also identified the man who was fatally shot at the party as 21-year-old Miguel Altamirano.
Police say the shooting occurred about 1:45 a.m. Friday at a party at a westside home for a Cholla High School graduate.
They say multiple uninvited guests arrived, an argument ensued in the home's front yard and shots were fired.
Police say a 17-year-old boy was taken to a Tucson hospital with non-life threatening wounds. His name hasn't been released.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
