GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - It could be considered a big box store and it's moving into Sahuarita. And the little guys aren't too happy about it.
Goodwill Industries plans to open a large retail store in Sahuarita in December.
At DaZee's resale clothing shops in nearby Green Valley, Patti O'Berry uses all of her profits to help victims of domestic violence. With Goodwill coming to town, she tells 9 On Your Side she's worried about losing donations, customers and cash.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, O'Berry's cause is personal.
"I promised myself that day if I found myself safe and my children safe, that I would one day see a home for other victim women and children," O'Berry said.
Any drop in business, Berry said, will take a toll on her shelter for victims of abuse.
The "Country-Fair White Elephant," a thrift shop in Green Valley, donates millions each year to various non-profits and could also see a drop in customers with the opening of a Goodwill store.
