TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Tucson father demanding answers after his three month old son died.
He's the victim of child abuse at the hands of another man. 29-year-old Genaro Urbina is now in jail on a charge of second degree murder.
CPS removed the boy -- and their other children -- from both his parents and put Izayah in custodial care. Urbina lived in the home.
Benito Garcia told KGUN9 he never missed a chance to see his son as he tried to put his life back together -- and now the family is trying to cope with their loss.
A heartfelt hug of support and sorrow to a father, who lost his child, 3-month old Izayah Benito Garcia. "I'm not angry, I just can't believe it happened," said Garcia.
Garcia organized a carwash to raise money for the baby's funeral, although he doesn't know when or where it will be. "His son is being held. I'm waiting for them to release him to me," he said.
Garcia said he didn't get to spend as much time with his son as he would have liked, but life must go on for his family.
He told us how he will remember little Izayah. "Oh man and I would have him on my lap and I would talk to him and I'd sing to him. He was just all smiles. Yeah, that's my boy," he said. One of only a few memories to hold on to.
Garcia says his son had been in the hospital fighting for his life for a day before he was told. According to police, the baby had trauma to his head and body.
