Hiker reported missing in Havasu Canyon found
SUPAI, Ariz. (AP) - A woman who had been reported missing from a hike in Havasu Canyon has been found.
U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs rangers who had been searching for 60-year-old Judy Jones spotted her Wednesday morning in a nearby canyon.
Coconino County sheriff's spokesman Gerry Blair says she's being flown out by helicopter. Authorities say she's conscious and lucid.
Blair says Jones had separated from two other women early Tuesday morning. He says the other women hiked out of the canyon on the Havasupai (hav-uh-SU'-peye) reservation but Jones didn't show up.
Ground crews and aircraft had searched into Tuesday night in areas around Supai Village but did not find Jones, who is from the Phoenix area.
