TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Tucson trio of Safeway saviors brought a whole new meaning to the phrase "cleanup on aisle 17".
Paul Rapp had a sudden heart attack in the frozen food aisle while shopping at a Tucson Safeway last January. Three employees jumped into action-- performing C-P-R and calling 9-1-1.
This week-- a much healthier Paul got a chance to say "thank you" as Safeway presented the heroes with a plaque.
"I can't say enough," said Paul Rapp. "I mean they saved my life because they knew CPR, they know what to do."
Doctors say "bystander CPR" was critical to Paul's survival.
As for now?
Paul got a pacemaker and says he feels like a million bucks.
