TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Fire responded to the east side Thursday after a woman was stung several hundred times by bees.

Capt. Barrett Baker with TFD tells KGUN9 that the woman in her 30s was walking down Tanque Verde Road near the Golf N Stuff when she was stung.

Firefighters arrived within four minutes, and used foam on the bees.

TFD Capt. Jurvig says the woman arrived at the hospital within seven minutes and is in stable condition.

Management at the gold course notified customers and employees to stay inside while a bee removal specialist was contacted.

Fire crews remained on scene to divert foot traffic while the bee specialist got rid of the hive.

Tucson Fire reminds people that if you are attacked by bees, cover your face with something and run to the nearest home, car or other shelter that creates a barrier between you and the bees.

If you find a swarm or hive on your property, contact a professional bee service to have it removed.

If a person or animal is attacked, call 911 immediately.
