UAPD tells KGUN9 that 63-year-old Jose DeJesus Cuevas-Hernandez has been named as a suspect in the stabbing incident that took place Wednesday morning on campus.

UAPD investigating stabbing, suspect named

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - University of Arizona Police have identified a suspect in the morning stabbing of a man on campus.

Sgt. Filbert Barrera, Public Information Officer with UAPD tells KGUN9 that 63-year-old Jose DeJesus Cuevas-Hernandez is believed to be the man who stabbed another man early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the Park Student Union located at 1303 E. University Blvd. Wednesday after a man was found with non-life threatening stab wounds.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police are searching for Cuevas-Hernandez, who is described as a Hispanic man, around 200 lbs., about 5'5 tall. He was wearing a blue shirt with logo, green army hat, blue jeans. 

Cuevas-Hernandez was last seen leaving the area in a gold or tan 2000 Chevy Malibu with Arizona license plate 772-ZBD.

UAPD has identified the suspect, but do not have him in custody.

Police advise not to approach him if you see him, but to call 9-1-1 immediately.
