TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Electric Power crews are on the scene of downed power lines on the Northwest side.
Joe Barrios, a TEP spokesperson, tells 9 On Your Side 30 customers are currently without power in what is primarily an industrial area.
The six damaged poles are on Gardner Lane between La Cholla Blvd. and Runway Drive. Tucson police officers blocked off that stretch of Gardner Lane.
Workers at the JD Russell office were unable to go to work because of the road closure. Their building is also one of the few that is still without power.
"Fom the business aspect of it, this is my end of month, so this is where we make our final push to get those sales figures we need," JD Russell employee Gil Romero said. "So this is going to hurt a a lot, absolutely."
TEP told Romero and his co-workers the road would remain closed until 4 p.m. Monday and that was also the earlier estimate for the rest of the power turning back on.
When the outage was first reported at 1:30 a.m., Barrios said about 700 customers were without power.
