Cross-country cat headed home

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The story that sounded too good to be true has gotten even better.

Ace the Cat went missing from his Tucson home ten-months ago. Turns out, he had been doing some traveling.

Tuesday morning, Ace's owner, Joanne Ferguson, got a call from the humane society in Southwood, Wisconsin.

How he ended up 1800-miles away is a mystery.

The question now, how to get the well-traveled feline home?

Ferguson tells 9OYS a Southwood Humane Society employee volunteered to drive Ace to the Milwuakee airport. It's a four-hour drive from their suburban location.

Even more amazing, since our story aired, officials with Southwest Airlines have offered to fly Ace home for free.

The much-anticipated reunion is set for Thursday afternoon.
