Five people dead following vehicle rollover on I-10

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Several people are dead following a vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 10 that occurred Saturday night.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal vehicle rollover accident that occurred on westbound I-10 near milepost 281 at around 11:00 p.m.
Battalion Chief Willie Treatch with the Rural/Metro Fire Department says the vehicle was a van carrying 22 people driving near Highway 83.
He tells KGUN9 that seven people were transported by helicopter to local hospitals and 10 other patients were transported by ambulance.
DPS and Treatch confirm to KGUN9 that five people were killed in the accident.
DPS also says Border Patrol was pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash.
At this time, Sgt. Copeland from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection - Tucson Sector will only confirm that there was an accident and that Border Patrol agents responded to the scene.
