Smuggler arrested for heroine, marijuana

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Agents with Border Patrol arrested a 41-year-old Mexican woman attempting to smuggle 2.5 pounds of marijuana and nearly 9 pounds of heroine into the United States.
According to Edith Serrano with Customs and Border Protection, during the inspection of the woman's vehicle, a narcotics detection canine lead border agents to find the marijuana hidden within the car's bumper. The agents also found heroine in the woman's purse.
The drugs are estimated at being worth at least $37,000, according to Serrano.
Maria Glenda Morales Ramirez, has been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations, according to Serrano.
