MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Marana Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with two fires on the north west side.

Sgt. Tim Brunenkant with Marana PD tells KGUN9 that Tyler Christopher Shotts was booked into jail and charged with two counts of reckless burning and two counts of endangerment in connection with two brush fires at Cortaro Road and the Santa Cruz River.

Brunenkant says police received a tip that Shotts had started a fire there Monday night. While looking for him on Tuesday, they received additional calls regarding a new fire at the same location.

Brunenkant says witnesses were able to give officers a description and police found Shotts at his home.

Capt. Adam Goldberg with Northwest Fire tells KGUN9 that there were multiple fires along the wash Tuesday.
