Motorcycle crash seriously injures man, closes southside road

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is in critical condition after he crashed his motorcycle on the southside.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department says a 36-year-old man was headed northbound on Mission Road just before 1:00 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the median.
Emergency medical personnel transported the man to the hospital.
Widmer tells KGUN9 that the man is in critical condition.
Traffic detectives are responding to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
Mission Road is currently closed south of Ajo Way and north of Irvington Road, according to Widmer.
Motorists should avoid the area if at all possible.
