TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Emergency medical personnel responded to a near drowning incident on the southside.
A two-year-old boy slipped through the broken metal bars around a gated pool in an apartment complex in the 4800 block of east 29th Street and fell into the pool, according to Capt. Barrett Baker with the Tucson Fire Department.
Several neighbors witnessed the near drowning, which occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, and were able to quickly jump in and pull the boy out of the pool, Baker said.
Neighbors also called 9-1-1 as a precaution, but Baker tells KGUN9 that the boy did not need any medical attention.
