TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities say two convicted sex offenders and a man wanted in Califiornia have been arrested at the southern Arizona border.
Border Patrol agents from the Nogales and Douglas stations apprehended 55-year-old Federico Reyes-Rodriguez and 24-year-old Roman Castillo-Leon.
They say Reyes-Rodriguez was previously convicted for raping a child in Washington state while Castillo-Leon was previously convicted of having sex with a child 3-years-old or younger in San Bernardino, Calif.
Both face possible prosecution for illegally re-entering the U.S. as a felon.
In a third incident, Willcox Station agents apprehended 37-year-old Rafael Ibarra-Barrera for entering the country illegally.
When Ibarra-Barrera's fingerprints were entered into a national crime database, authorities say an active warrant surfaced for cruelty to a child and corporal injury to a spouse.
He now awaits extradition to Ventura, Calif.
