TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A serious crash near Phoenix is creating long delays on I-10.
Garin Groff with the Arizona Department of Transportation says a serious crash has restricted westbound I-10 to a single lane near Riggs Road and traffic is backed up for miles in both directions.
Officers with the Arizona Department of Transportation are investigating the one-vehicle collision that occurred just before 11:00 a.m. Saturday near milepost 166, according to the DPS Duty Office.
The DPS Duty Office tells KGUN9 that the accident caused injuries, but the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.
ADOT recommends that drivers plan for extended travel times or consider using alternate route such as State Route 87, Groff says.
Motorists may also want to consider delaying their trip until the crash site is cleared.
