This is Venus, a 7-month-old Shepherd mix and just one of 300 hundred adorable dogs and cats you can adopt during this weekend's spring-themed, free pet give-away at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. All pets have been microchipped, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and vetted, and come with a gift bag full of pet supplies, all at no cost to you.

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is giving away free pets.

Mix-breed dogs that are older than five months and weigh more than 25 pounds, and cats older than five months are absolutely free March 22 through March 24, according to Sara Gromley with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

Gromley says the pets have been microchipped, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and vetted, and come with a gift bag full of pet supplies, all at no cost to you.

Anyone looking for a companion can come and choose from more than 300 pets that are available during this three-day event, according to Gromley.

All HSSA locations are offering the adoptions special, but only the main shelter, located at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. will hosting food trucks and an Eegee's booth, Gromley says.
