TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – City councilwoman Karin Uhlich has secured enough signatures from Ward 3 residents to be placed on the 2013 ballot for reelection.

Uhlich has obtained nearly 300 signatures since March 2. Her campaign office said she plans to turn in 554 signatures, the maximum allowed, on April 28. That’s the earliest the city clerk’s office will accept nominating petitions.

Tucson is making real progress and that progress has not only energized our existing supporters, but has activated a new group of supporters as well,” Uhlich said.

She is the first candidate to qualify for the city’s clean elections program this year, turning in more than 200 contributions in the past 30 days.

Uhlich will be running for her third term in office.
