One dead in southside shooting
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police are investigating the death of a man who was shot on the southside early Friday and they need your help.
Tucson police responded to a call about a shooting at around 12:00 a.m. Friday morning at a residence in the 2,000 block of South Campbell Avenue, according to Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department.
Once on scene, officers discovered a 41-year-old man inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, according to Widmer.
Widmer tells KGUN9 that there were between five and ten guests inside the home at the time of the incident.
He says a fight ensued and one of the guests pulled out a gun and opened fire before leaving the home. Several other witnesses left the home as well, but some stayed behind, Widmer said.
At this point, homicide detectives do not know which guest had the gun and pulled the trigger, according to Widmer.
The case is ongoing and police ask that anyone with information about the shooting call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
