SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - An anonymous tip has led officers in Sierra Vista to the arrest of a 38-year-old man.

Corporal Scott Borgstad with Sierra Vista Police tells KGUN9 that on March 3, police received an anonymous tip via the City's website "Submit a Tip" link.

The tip indicated a possible stolen vehicle being "stripped" at an address on West James Place. Several more tips came in over the next two days providing updates on the condition and location of the vehicle, Borgstad said.
Detectives began surveillance of the property and were able to obtain a license plate number.

A check of the license plate showed the plate was reported stolen out of Tucson. Detectives made contact with Sean Lowery, 38, of Sierra Vista.

Lowery indicated he knew the vehicle was stolen from Tucson, Borgstad said.
Lowery has been arrested and charged with one count of theft of means of transportation, trafficking in stolen property and unlawful use of license plate.

Sierra Vista Police would like to thank the anonymous tipster.  Without the information this crime would probably have gone unsolved. Anyone with information regarding possible criminal activity can use the "Submit a Tip" link on the City website at www.sierravistaaz.gov  (search "anonymous").
