TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police arrested a 33-year-old woman after they say she intentionally set fire to a trailer at her home.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that Dorothy Newsome was arrested on February 26 after investigators learned that she set fire to a trailer.
Detectives from the TPD Arson Unit responded to a home in the 800 block of West Kelso Street that day and learned that Newsome, her boyfriend and her three children live at the home and the trailer belonged to a family member of Newsome's boyfriend.
Detectives spoke with witnesses and examined evidence that revealed Newsome intentionally started the fire.
She was located that day and booked into the Pima County Jail for one count of Arson of a Structure and one count of Felony Criminal Damage.
Her motive is unknown at this time.
The estimated cost of damage to the trailer and its contents is $17,000.
