TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - TFD units responded to a mobile home fire call around 6:46 a.m. Tuesday morning. An electrical short in the attic space of a mobile home caused heavy charring and produced a large amount of smoke at the home, located in the 4500 block of South Mission Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, crews inside the home coordinated with the crew on the roof to find the hot spot and pull down the drywall from the ceiling. They found heavy charring in the insulation. The ladder crew proceeded to cut a hole in the roof, allowing the smoke to exit the attic. They removed some of the charred insulation and the crew inside sprayed any remaining hot spots with water.

In a news release, Capt. Barrett Baker with TFD said that it took eight units and 21 firefighters to control the incident within 22 minutes. There were no injuries to firefighters and Red Cross was not needed at the scene. The damages are estimated at $10,000.
