Another Sahuarita wrestler charged as adult in locker room assault

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Another member of the Sahuarita High School wrestling team now faces charges as an adult after a locker room assault last month. KGUN9 News found out why, as the students appeared in court.
One by one, the original three members of the wrestling charged as adults stood next to their attorneys in front of Pima County Superior Court Judge Roger Duncan Thursday afternoon.
Marcus Stitts, Jorge Loya-Lopez and Andres Vasquez are each charged with at least one count of aggravated assault, according to court records and the Pima County Attorney’s Office, for what police called a case of "bullying and hazing" in a locker room last month.
Police reports detailed what wrestlers, witnesses, the victim and police say happened.
A fourth student also stood before the judge: Blake Koller. The county attorney's office reported Koller turned 18 at the beginning of this month. Records show he now also faces at least one assault charge, which is now handled by Superior Court.
The court automatically enters a "no guilty" plea for defendants and that happened in all four cases Thursday.
With each case, the judge asked the victim's father if he would like to speak. KGUN9 has chosen not to show the father or reveal his name. The man asked if the court could make sure the wrestlers stayed away from his son. The judge reminded every wrestler to not talk to the victim in any way.
All four of the 18 year olds left the courtroom not in police custody, although some or all are under some kind of supervision.
The judge scheduled the next court appearance for late March.
Other students under the age of 18 are also charged in the assault. One appeared in court in late January. Their names will not be made public.
