SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Cochise County Sheriff Deputies have found and traced counterfeit money following a traffic stop.

Cpl. Scott Borgstadt with Sierra Vista Police tells KGUN9 that deputies conducted a traffic stop late last week in the Sierra Vista area.

The traffic stop lead to a seizure of drugs and cash, said Borgstadt.  The cash was processed and discovered that all $2800 was counterfeit.

On February 4, deputies traced the money and contacted the individuals from the traffic stop in a Sierra Vista apartment complex.

The United States Secret Service was contacted to assist with the investigation due to the counterfeit currency.  A search warrant was served on the apartment of the suspects.  Items of evidence were confiscated and processed and arrests are pending with the investigation.
