TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A grandfather has been detained for questioning after being accused of molesting his 6-year-old granddaughter.

Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that officers responded to Wakefield Middle School and Hollinger Elementary School near 6th Ave and Ajo Way.

Widmer says a grandmother and grandfather were walking their granddaughter to school, when the grandmother confronted the grandfather about molesting the child. The grandmother then snatched the child up and went inside school.

The grandmother says the grandfather threatened to kill her, the granddaughter and students at both Hollinger Elementary and Wakefield Elementary.  Both schools were placed on lock-down as a precaution.

The lock-down at both schools was lifted at around 12:00 p.m. Friday.

The grandfather has been taken into custody for questioning, but no charges have been filed.
