SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A clerk used a stun gun to stop a 13-year-old from escaping during a robbery last weekend.
Tim Gaffney with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office tells KGUN9 that deputies responded to the Skyline Market at 5650 E. Skyline Market Road in response to a robbery.
When deputies arrived, they learned that the clerk had detained a 13-year-old who tried to steal two 18-packs of beer with an 18-year-old man.
The 18-year-old, Humberto Sanchez, fled the store but was located and arrested Monday night.
The 13-year-old got into a physical confrontation with the clerk who told deputies he feared for his safety, and used a stun gun to detain him. The clerk told deputies he had to use the stun gun three different times to try and restrain the teen.
The 13-year-old was booked into the Pinal County Juvenile Detention Center for one count of aggravated robbery. He also was arrested recently for a burglary offense.
