TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) -- Neighbors detest the apartment complex. It's known to have large, loud and sometimes out of control parties. And now new dramatic video on YouTube reveals why neighbors are so upset after a weekend party at Standard Apartments ends with shots fired.

Someone at the party shot video posted later on YouYube.  It shows confusion in the crowd after a fight erupts. You can hear people shout, "What's going on?" Others answer, "I don't know."

But moments before the gunshots, the camera captured a young man, with a tattoo on his neck and arm, flash what appears to be a gun. Then panic from the crowd -- people start to shout that the young man has a gun.

Chaos ensued and the crowd scrambled. Seconds later, there's a noise that sounds like gunshots -- fired off camera.

Tucson Police confirm a man did fire several shots into the air, but now they're trying to figure out who did it and piece together exactly what happened.

Sgt. Maria Hawke told KGUN9, "We're pursuing a variety of different leads."

Depending on what police are able to learn, the shooter could face charges ranging from discharging a firearm within city limits to a much stiffer charge. Sgt. Hawke said, "More serious charges of endangerment that could be applied -- very similar to maybe yelling out fire in a crowded movie theatre," which could lead to a potential risk for injury for people trying to flee the situation.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in this stampede of students rushing for safety.

The manager of the Standard Apartment complex is not off the hook, because he allowed the party to take place. Police cited him with a red tag violation. which basically means that on top of a fine -- he has to make sure police do not return to this complex because of rowdy, out of control parties for six months.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooter or has video of the incident to come forward by calling 88-crime. You can remain anonymous.
