Marijuana, currency seized at Douglas port

DOUGLAS, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - On Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized $22,500 in unreported U.S. currency, in addition to 190 packages of marijuana in a vehicle with an approximate weight of 297 pounds and worth an estimated $148,000.
In a news release, Edith Serrano with the Department of Homeland Security said Two Mexican nationals were arrested in unrelated smuggling incidents at the Douglas Port.
According to Serrano, in each incident the contraband was seized and the individuals were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
