TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One man was injured in an early morning shooting that errupted after a fight at a neighborhood party.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 11900 block of east Barbary Coast Road just before 4:00 a.m. Saturday, according to Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Peine tells KGUN9 that deputies with the Sheriff's Rincon District responded to the scene and located a 30-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to his head.
Deputies also located 37-year-old Robert Wallace in the backyard of the residence and took him into custody, Peine said.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Robbery/Assault Unit also responded to the scene and began an investigation that revealed that family members and neighbors had come together for a party at the incident location. In the early morning hours, an argument erupted between two male guests.
Peine says that during the argument, Wallace produced a handgun and fired a round at the victim, who suffered a non-life-threatening injury to the head.
Detectives arrested Wallace for one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
