TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Fire crews responded to a building fire in 4900 block of east 29th Street Monday.

Capt. Barrett Baker with TFD tells KGUN9 that the fire began about 3:30 p.m. and that there was heavy smoke in the area.

He also said something inside the building might have been accelerating the flames.

Four businesses in the strip mall were on fire, and Baker says he considers them a complete loss.

The cause has been determined as an unspecified electrical malfunction in a screen print dryer. One of the four businesses did screen printing.

It took more than 25 units and close to 60 firefighters to bring the fire under control.

Tucson Police had 29th Street closed both East and Westbound between Swan Road and Rosemount while crews battled the blaze.

Officers also moved all area daycare centers to Myers School at 5000 East Andrew.
