TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Although the Wildcats won't be heading to a high profile bowl this year, they are bowl-bound after being sacked last season.
The cats will play the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl on December 15.
"I think it's phenomenal... Rich Rod, first University of Arizona coach to get to a bowl season, what he's done with the team I think it's really amazing to see what he's been able to do," said Sam Kinkade, a UA student.
With the game happening during finals week, graduation day and a big men's basketball game, students said it could be a challenge for them to make the trip to Albuquerque.
"I will probably try to watch it on TV -- just because I got things with finals, last minute school stuff to do," said Joshua Espinoza, another UA student.
Greg Byrne, the athletic director for the University of Arizona said he hopes fans will still make it out to the game.
"Might be a little challenge but we hope as many fans as possible can make it over to Albuquerque and support these seniors and support this team," he said at a press conference last weekend.
If you are interested in attending the game, Bon Voyage Travel is offering three travel options, which include air, land and a bus deal that range from $265 to $359 per person.
Ryan Hansen, the company's vice president, said they've been getting calls all morning about the deals.
"What we're hoping for is having a lot of excitement and people that do want to go because there are so many opportunities and options for them to choose from," he said.
Tickets are being sold online and at the McKale ticket office for $30.00.
