TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The annual El Tour de Tucson is just a week away. Thousands of cyclists will invade Tucson to participate.
But for some, this event is so much more than a 41-mile-trek.
This will be Payton Davies' sixth consecutive El Tour de Tucson.
She started cycling one year after her husband, Bob, was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and each year, she rides in El Tour de Tucson to raise money for the Arizona Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
Her first year, Davies raised $1,500. And she's made more money each year for the past six years.
Last year, she raised $6,000. Davies says she plans to return next year, when she turns 70.
