Veterans Day affects some citywide services

In honor of Veterans Day, some citywide services will be affected. Be sure to call specific government agencies and companies to confirm closures and updated hours. 

City garbage and recycling

-- The city of Tucson's garbage and recycling customers whose normal collection day is Monday will have their garbage and recycling service delayed by one day. Los Reales Landfill will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

County garbage and recycling

-- For Waste Management customers, Monday's garbage and recycling collection will not be affected by the holiday.

-- For more info, call the customer service line at 744-2600 or at 1-800-796-9696.

Other companies

-- Several other companies collect trash outside Tucson; call the collection company to confirm schedule.

City, county, state and federal offices

-- Closed Monday.

Bus

-- Sun Tran Routes 2, 6, 7, 8, 16, 21 and 22 will be on detour due to street closures for the Veterans Day Parade. All other buses will operate on a regular schedule Thursday. For more information, call 792-9222 or go to: www.suntran.com

-- Sun Tran routes will have regular service. Minor delays and detours.

Post office

-- Closed Monday.

Pima County Public Library

-- The Pima County Public libraries and the Oro Valley Public Library will be closed Monday. Book chutes will be open for customers to return items, and online resources will be available at: www.library.pima.gov

Banks

-- Some open Monday; call to confirm.

Schools

-- Closed Monday.

University of Arizona and Pima Community College

-- No classes Monday.

Motor Vehicle Division

-- Offices will be closed Monday.

Emissions

-- Open Monday.
