Freeze Warning in effect for Tucson

CREATED Nov. 11, 2012

Meteorologist: Aaron Brackett

A Freeze Warning is in effect for the Tucson metro area from 1:00AM to 9:00AM Monday.

A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect from 1:00AM to 9:00AM Monday for much of Cochise and northern Santa Cruz counties as well as valley locations south and east of Tucson.

The cold northerly flow behind a departing low pressure system combined with clear skies and low humidity values will create cold conditions early Monday.

Expect bitterly cold lows in Tucson in the low to mid 30s. While much of the city will remain above freezing tonight, areas near dry washes or valleys may hit freezing just before sunrise Monday. Locations to the east and south could see several hours below 32 degrees.

Rememner to wrap your exposed pipes, bring the pets in or provide adequate shelter and fresh un-frozen water, and to over or bring in sensitive plants.
