TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police have made an arrest in a homicide investigation from May 2011.

Detectives from Homeland Security and the Tucson Police Department Gang Unit arrested four people in conjunction with a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of May 12, 2011, according to Sgt. Maria Hawke with the Tucson Police Department.

Julian Zepeda, 25, Kristin Olea, 23, Michael Ortega, 26 and Moises Fierros, 20 were served warrants and arrested Thursday for their involvement in the shooting incident that resulted in the death of 22-year-old Javier Bejarano, Hawke says.

On the night of May 12, 2011 at around 11:00 p.m. Tucson police responded to an apartment complex in the 5600 block of south Park Avenue after several people called 9-1-1 to report that shots were fired.

Hawke tells KGUN9 that officers on scene discovered Bejarano suffering from gunshot trauma in the parking area of the complex. He was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

During the initial investigation, detectives learned that witnesses overheard a verbal altercation prior to shots being fired. A dark-colored sedan was also seen leaving the scene.

According to Hawke, all of the individuals have been charged with one count of first-degree murder and booked into the Pima County Jail.
