TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man hiding from police called 911 to report a bomb threat to try and escape.

According to officials with the U.S. Marshals, Israel Romo Ysea, 36, was wanted in the fatal stabbing of a man earlier this month.

On October 15, Ysea and Guillermo Cruz got in a fight at a home in Douglas, Ariz.

During the fight, authorities say Ysea allegedly stabbed Cruz with a knife.

Cruz was taken to the hospital after he noticed blood stains on his shirt, where he later died.

On Thursday, Deputy U.S. Marshals and officers with the Douglas Police Department surrounded multiple homes where they believed Ysea was hiding.

Ysea called 911 and reported a bomb threat, in an effort to thwart police.

A bomb squad was sent to the scene but before they arrived, Ysea came out of one of the homes and was apprehended without incident.

He was taken to the Cochise County Detention Center where he is being held on the fatal stabbing.
