SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Scottsdale police say a suspect in the sexual assaults of two women in their apartments has surrendered.
Police spokesman Sgt. Mark Clark says 22-year-old Ryan Joseph Festa called his lawyer Thursday evening and arranged the surrender after seeing an artist's rendering police distributed to the media.
Clark says Festa declined to be questioned but detectives developed probable cause to make an arrest. He was booked on two counts each of sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary.
Clark says a man entered an apartment late on Oct. 18 through an unlocked patio door and sexually assaulted a 49-year-old woman. A 29-year-old woman was assaulted in an apartment at a complex just blocks away late Wednesday by a man who also came in through an unlocked patio door.
Both suspects had similar descriptions.
