MARANA (KGUN9-TV) - Multiple agencies battled flames at Marana Aerospace Solutions Friday night.

Firefighters from the Avra Valley Fire District, Northwest Fire District and Silverbell Army Heliport Fire Department responded to the air park just before 11:00 p.m. Friday, according to Patrick Calhoun with the Avra Valley Fire District.

Calhoun tells KGUN9 that the fire was burning in a building that was used as an employee break room and storage facility for mechanic's tools.

The first crews on scene found smoke and flames billowing from the roof of the structure and firefighters ultimately had to pull down ceiling materials to stop the spread of the fire, according to Calhoun.

It took 20 firefighters approximately 50 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No one was inside the building at the time of the fire, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Calhoun.
