PHOENIX (AP) - Attorneys have until Friday to submit additional legal papers in a court case centered on whether an Arizona legislator knowingly allowed her signature to be forged on campaign documents.

The Arizona Republic reports that Judge Randall Warner of Maricopa County Superior Court told lawyers for Democratic Rep. Catherine Miranda of Phoenix and a Republican Party official that he wants more information before ruling.

The suit was filed by Terry Rapp. He says the alleged forgeries mean Miranda has yet to formally file papers to run and that any votes cast for her in the Nov. 6 general election should be void.

Miranda attorney Tom Ryan says the case should be dismissed because the most that is at stake is a civil fine.
