PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say they have identified the remains of an unidentified man buried in a Tempe cemetery 25 years ago as a missing teen from Riverside, Calif.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office said Monday that the body has been identified as 16-year-old John Bryan Moore.
In June 1987, two men were driving across Arizona on their way to California when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Moore, who was driving, had hitched a ride and was killed. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the unknown man was buried at Tempe Buttes Cemetery.
Last year, the body was exhumed and complete digital dental radiographs and an anthropology examination were done that recently linked him to Moore, who had been reported missing six months prior to his death.
