PHOENIX (AP) - Globe officials say there's no E. coli in the city's drinking water and residents no longer need to boil their water as a precaution.
Water in a city well tested positive for E. coli on Monday, forcing the city to issue a boil order until the water tests came back clean.
City officials said Tuesday that the second test was negative.
The Arizona Republic says the contaminated water was found in one of the six wells used for the town's water supply. The well was shut down Monday.
Interim City Manager Cynthia Seelhammer says city officials and outside experts will review what improvements can be made.
Seelhammer says all city water is treated with chlorine. The boil-water mandate is Arizona Department of Environmental Quality protocol.
